Glas Goggomobil T 300

The Glas Goggomobil T 300 was a slightly more powerful version of the Goggomobil T series, produced by Hans Glas GmbH from 1955 to 1969. The “T” stood for “Tudor” (two-door), while “300” referred to the engine displacement of 300 cc. This model was designed as an economical microcar for urban driving, similar to the T 250 but with a larger engine for improved performance.

The Goggomobil T 300 was powered by a 300 cc, two-stroke, two-cylinder engine, producing about 15 horsepower. This increased the car’s top speed to approximately 55 mph (88 km/h), making it slightly faster than the T 250. It retained the 4-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive configuration. The T 300 also featured independent front suspension and a swing-axle rear suspension for a relatively smooth ride, considering its compact size.

Its small dimensions and low weight, coupled with the modest engine power, made it a fuel-efficient car, appealing to cost-conscious buyers. The T 300, like its siblings in the Goggomobil series, became popular in post-war Europe for its affordability and practicality. Despite its compact nature, the car could seat up to four passengers, though the interior was quite small.

The Goggomobil T 300, along with other models in the series, remains a collectible classic in the world of microcars today.
