Glas Goggomobil T 250

The Glas Goggomobil T 250 was a microcar produced by Hans Glas GmbH from 1955 to 1969. It was one of the smallest production cars of its time and was designed as an economical and compact city car. The “T” stood for “Tudor,” meaning it was a two-door sedan model in the Goggomobil lineup, while “250” referred to the engine displacement of 250 cc.

The Goggomobil T 250 featured a two-stroke, two-cylinder engine, producing around 13 horsepower. This allowed the car to reach a top speed of approximately 50 mph (80 km/h). It had a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Due to its small engine size, the car was highly fuel-efficient, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious consumers in post-war Europe.

Its compact dimensions, with a length of just 2.9 meters, made it ideal for navigating narrow city streets. Despite its small size, the Goggomobil T 250 offered seating for up to four passengers, though it was quite cramped. It had independent front suspension and a rear swing-axle, contributing to a relatively comfortable ride for a car of its class.

The Goggomobil T 250 was known for its affordability, practicality, and quirky design, and it became a popular choice in the microcar segment. Today, it remains a beloved classic among microcar enthusiasts.
